Munir captures honorable mention in poetry competition.
Raisa Munir, a freshman, won honorable mention in Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. The ninth grader entered her poem “Winter,” in the competition.

“I like to write and thought that it would be fun to share my pieces with other people and get rewarded for my poem. It was exciting and scary to submit my work. Submitting it made me more confident with my writing abilities,

Munir submitted her poem to the program outside of school and impressed her English teacher.
“I love to see my students work on their writing outside of school and get rewarded for their efforts,” English teacher Curtis Campbell said.
